WATER TENDER ROLLS, TRAPPING DRIVER – COLORADO

A firetruck rolled Friday morning north of Bayfield, trapping one person inside, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash occurred about 10:45 a.m. in the 6000 block of County Road 501, near the entrance to Forest Lakes subdivision.

The Upper Pine River Fire Protection District responded with an extraction team, but law enforcement could not confirm it was an Upper Pine truck that rolled.

No injuries were reported at the scene, but the person who was trapped was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler with the State Patrol, the lead agency for the incident.

He did not have further information about what caused the truck to roll.

Law enforcement closed one lane of traffic, but allowed alternating lanes of traffic. Traffic impacts were expected to clear up by early afternoon, Cutler said about noon Friday.
