TWO NEW JERSEY FIREFIGHTERS INJURED IN ENGINE CRASH DURING HYDRANT DETAIL

Two volunteer firefighters performing a hydrant detail in Phillipsburg were injured in a crash that disabled one of the station’s engines, authorities said.

Members of the Huntington Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Station 75 were performing a hydrant detail when their truck was hit by another vehicle while turning left onto Haig Boulevard in Phillipsburg around 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 2, according to a post on the station’s Facebook page.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries in the crash, which fully disabled the engine, authorities said.
