MEDFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ—A fire engine was unable to assist with a dwelling fire after it collided with a tree.

Vincentown Fire Company’s Tender 1716 was responding to a dwelling fire in Medford Township just after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

As the fire engine was making a turn at the intersection of Church Road and Eayrestown Road, it was slid off the roadway and into a tree after it encountered a soft shoulder, the fire department said in a Facebook post.

No firefighters were seriously injured. The Lumberton Township Fire Department and Lumberton Emergency Squad assisted at the scene.

“We are extremely thankful that all three volunteer firefighters were treated and released with little to no injuries,” the post said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Medford Township Police Department.
