OH MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER BEING STRUCK BY FIRE TRUCK

CLARK COUNTY — A male has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital after being struck on State Route 235 Monday night in Clark County.

Paul Johnson, 38 from New Carlisle was struck by a brush fire truck Monday just before 10 p.m. on State Route 235 near Dalton Drive.

Sgt. David Slankar with the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol told News Center 7 that witnesses say they saw the victim intentionally run into the road. The first car reportedly swerved and missed him, then he ran out again to get hit by the fire truck, Slankar continued.

The male was taken to the hospital by ground medics and has significant critical injuries.

According to a press release provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Johnson is in serious but stable condition as of 12:00 a.m.
