3 INJURED IN KANSAS CITY RESPONDING PUMPER CRASH

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three people had minor injuries after a crash on Thursday involving a Kansas City, Missouri, fire truck on its way to a house fire, according to police.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., a KCFD pumper truck responded to an house fire near East 33rd Street and Benton Boulevard.

The pumper truck was going northbound on Benton Boulevard.

When the pumper truck got to the intersection at East 39th Street, it drove against the red traffic light with its lights and sirens activated, police said.

Two vehicles heading east and westbound drove into the intersection and were struck by the KCFD vehicle.

Three people in the two vehicles were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
