Vermont State Police say a Vermont Fire Chief was taken in police custody for a DUI after responding to a fire.
State Police discovered a brush fire in field behind the Foote Brook Farm Stand in Johnson on Wednesday night.
Police say Johnson Fire Chief, Arjay M. West, 44, of Johnson, responded to the fire.
Investigators say West gave a breath sample of .082% and was taken into custody for Driving Under the Influence.
Officials say the fire was found to be a controlled burn and the owner reportedly had a permit.
West was processed at the Morristown Police Department and released on citation.
