TEXAS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER DIES IN ROLLOVER CRASH

RINGGOLD, Texas — A North Texas volunteer firefighter died while responding as mutual aid to a wildfire on Tuesday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department firefighter, identified as 65-year-old Duncan Cameron Henderson, reportedly lost control of his 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck on Crenshaw Road, which is a dirt road, while responding to the wildfire in neighboring Nocona, Texas.

Police say high speed was a factor in the crash.

Tuesday night’s crash reportedly occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. however, the wreckage was not discovered until around 1:20 a.m. by a passing motorist.

Henderson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ringgold and Nocona are located along the Texas-Oklahoma border, in Montague County, approximately 35 miles east of Wichita Falls.
