TEXAS FIRE CHIEF KILLED IN FIRE APPARATUS ROLLOVER CRASH – EJECTED

We regret to pass on that the Fire Chief of Fort Hancock Fire Department is dead following a fatal rollover crash along Highway 20 last night, Wednesday. Fort Hancock is situated on the Mexico–U.S. border, near El Paso.

Fire Chief Manuel Galindo Jr, 71,. was driving fire apparatus heading east, when for unknown reasons began to veer off the road. Chief Galindo then attempted to drive back in to the road, causing the truck to flip over and he was ejected from the truck as it rolled over.. The Chief was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and was declared dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
