A South Carolina fire apparatus overturned Tuesday, injuring at least one firefighter.
The accident happened along Hwy. 165, near Gadsden Road, in the Ravenel area, WCSC-TV reports. It involved a vehicle and a firefighter from the St. Paul’s Fire Department.
St. Paul’s Fire Chief Larry Garvin told WCSC that the firefighter, who had been driving the apparatus, was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Although the firefighter’s condition was not given, Garvin added that the person was OK.
Part of Hwy. 165 was shut down because of the crash, and by about 12:30 p.m., fire crews at the scene had righted the apparatus, according to the TV station.
Details about what caused the crash were not given, and it was not known whether the firefighter was responding to a call. It’s also unclear if the accident involved other people or vehicles.
