Breaking news in San Francisco, as a San Francisco Fire Department boat capsized.
The San Francisco Fire Department rescue boat was on a training mission Saturday morning, when it flipped over, said officials.
“Rescue Boat 1” departed from Marina Green, and then for unknown reasons, capsized near Ocean Beach at 11:18 a.m. according to authorities.
All seven people onboard went into the water.
Two of them were rescued by a private boat, while the other 5 were pulled out of the water by the U.S. Coast
Guard and or fellow San Francisco Fire Department members.
The 7 crew members were treated on scene, and it is unclear if any of them will be taken to the hospital for further observations.
The public is asked to avoid the Ocean Beach area, as the case is an active investigation, and officials are trying to salvage the rescue boat, which crashed along the rocks, just north of the Sutro Baths.
The 7 crew members are certified and highly-skilled, and were enhancing their skills, said San Francisco Fire Department authorities.
