Six people were hospitalized after a fire truck was t-boned at a busy intersection Wednesday, according to officials.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department said it happened on Florida Boulevard at Wooddale Boulevard around 11:30 a.m.
BRFD reported three people in the vehicle and three in the fire truck, including the driver, who was knocked unconscious and suffered the most serious injuries, were taken to area hospitals.
Officials said the other five patients suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the truck was responding to a motor vehicle crash on Greenwell Springs when the crash happened. The truck had its lights and sirens activated.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
