The Effingham fire chief was injured when his fire truck rolled over in Effingham on Wednesday.
Route 153 was closed near Plantation Road Wednesday morning.
Officials said the chief was driving the truck when he went around a corner, hit the soft shoulder on the road, went into a utility pole and rolled the truck onto its roof. The pole was knocked down in the crash.
The chief managed to crawl out of the truck. He was alone in the truck at the time.
The chief was take to the hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.
