An FDNY supervisor’s vehicle was stolen as it sat running in front of a Bronx hospital before cops later arrested the two thieves, authorities said.
The vehicle’s engine had been left running as the FDNY personnel were inside Jacobi Medical Center around 10 p.m. before the suspects got in and drove away, police said.
When they realized the truck had been stolen, the FDNY supervisors alerted police, who began tracking the vehicle’s GPS system until it was located it a short time later.
The vehicle was found — along with the two suspects — sitting along Randall Avenue in front of the Soundview Houses.
Police arrested Joshua Gicead, 31, and Jorge Santiago, 54, and charged them with grand larceny, petit larceny, unauthorized use of a stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property. The trucks are usually red and have the letters “FDNY” inscribed on them.
