A ladder truck from the Medway Fire Department had an embarrassing moment caught on camera at the notorious Westwood railroad overpass.
The truck was headed back to Medway after undergoing repairs when it hit the bridge at 3:29 p.m. on Wednesday, the Westwood Police Department said.
In the video, the ladder truck approaches the bridge from the far side and comes to a quick stop as it hits the low overpass and debris falls to the ground.
After many past crashes, the bridge is now heavily marked with yellow warning signs, but the ladder truck does not seem to slow before the impact.
Other drivers are forced to turn around while the ladder truck stays under the bridge and a police officer responds.
Later, the ladder truck was able to back itself out from under the bridge, police said. The bridge was not damaged.
