During Prairieton Fire Department’s response to the S&G maintenance barn fire, one fire man drove a truck off the road along South Morris Place north of Prairieton Road hitting a power line.
The wreck happened around 3:30 this morning. According to Duke Energy’s website, seven homes in the Prairieton area are without power. The fireman who drove the truck is ok.
“Everyone is ok, he was stuck in the vehicle for a while until they got the power shut down. All he lost was his pride,” Fire chief Mike Chervenko said.
The fire chief tells us Duke Energy says it could be until early tomorrow morning that the area is re-opened. They have to wait for more heavy equipment, some from Michigan to arrive on scene.
