FORT WAYNE, IN RESPONDING APPARATUS CRASH

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A Fort Wayne fire engine rushing to the scene of a crash was struck by a vehicle Monday.

Around 11 a.m., crews from Station 2 were on their way to a crash scene when a car struck the fire engine on West Jefferson near Swinney Park.

The car driver suffered minor injuries, and medics took them to the hospital to get checked out.

No firefighters were hurt during the ordeal.

Crews had to tow the fire engine away from the scene because the damage rendered it inoperable.
