Three people were injured Tuesday morning in an accident between a fire truck and an ambulance in Reynolds County.
According to the Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 21 in Centerville as a fire truck being driven by 74-year-old Lynndel Barnes of Ellington was following an ambulance being driven by 38-year-old Christina Thomas of Ellington.
The fire truck struck the rear of the ambulance, causing the ambulance to slide off the road and overturn.
All injured were occupants of the ambulance.
Thomas received minor injuries and her two passengers, 25-year-old Sarah Martin of Ellington was moderately injured and 44-year-old Keith Cherry of Fredericktown received minor injuries.
Martin was flown to Mercy Hospital in Saint Louis while Thomas and Cherry were taken to Southeast Health Center in Ellington.
