Police responded to an accident involving a car and a fire truck on Route 422 and Old Airport Road Tuesday afternoon in Amity Township.
The crash involved a Monarch Fire Company truck and a gray Nissan.
It’s not clear what led to the crash. According to witnesses, the driver of the gray car went to the hospital. There’s no word on that person’s condition. No one in the fire truck needed to go to the hospital.
One of the first people on the scene was Quentin Stephany, an off-duty EMT.
“I’m still baffled at this car accident. It’s amazing. I hope they’re OK,” he said. “I was up at home and I heard sirens like the fire responding and then I heard some kind of crash and I figured they were responding to that kind of crash.”
Route 422 westbound was closed at Old Airport Road and N. Monocacy Creek Road.
It was closed for hours and reopened Tuesday afternoon around 5:30 p.m.
