CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A new ladder truck belonging to the St. Andrews Fire Department will be out of commission for awhile after a training exercise accident on Saturday.
The department said it had recently added a new vehicle. However, the vehicle rolled onto its side during a training exercise.
A viewer captured a picture of the truck in West Ashley in a parking lot near Sam Rittenburg Boulevard and Old Towne Road.
The department stated that no one was injured and that the vehicle was turned back over and towed from the scene.
St. Andrews Fire Department Chief Charles G. Lamoreaux said that the accident is under investigation and that no other vehicles were involved.
Crews added that the department’s reserve truck will be placed back into service until the new one is ready to be used again
