Four civilians were injured in a collision apparently involving three cars and a Los Angeles Fire Department engine in the Sawtelle neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.
The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Barrington Avenue, according to LAFD.
Two civilians were in critical condition, and two had minor injuries, an LAFD tweet stated. One of those injured was trapped.
The Fire Department’s Brian Humphrey confirmed a fire engine was involved. The truck was responding to an emergency with “light + siren protocol” when the crash occurred,another LAFD tweet stated.
No fire personnel were injured.
Three vehicles at the scene appeared to be damaged, aerial video from Sky5 showed: a gold Honda sedan, a gray Toyota Yaris, and a black Toyota Camry.
The Yaris appeared to be lodged between the Honda and the Camry. It wasn’t clear which fire engine was damaged among several at the scene.
